Somnath Pal, Ph.D.

Somnath Pal, BS(Pharm.), M.S., M.B.A., Ph.D., earned his terminal degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa majoring in Pharmacoeconomics. He is a full-time faculty in the College of Pharmacy & Allied Health Professions in the department of Pharmacy Administration & Public Health. His focus of research is on Drug Utilization studies and experimental designs for clinical trials. He has received about a dozen grants, published more than thirty peer-reviewed articles, authored book chapters, made numerous national and international presentations, and served as a statistical consultant in a couple of NIH-R15 grant applications. He has increased the understanding of the practicing clinicians about the implications of the trend in the morbidity and mortality of various diseases by authoring a column in a pharmacy practice journal every month.
