Dr. Yong Yu is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences. Research in the Yu Lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying the structure, function, and regulation of ion channels and receptors, as well as their roles in disease mechanisms and drug discovery. The lab's long-term goal is to understand the molecular basis of these proteins’ function and regulation, and how they contribute to cell physiology and human disease. Dr. Yu is available to mentor students in the MS in Neuroscience program for research or thesis work.
